Lion's Mane
+ Chaga
Mushroom coffee in a limited monthly release, formulated for the month ahead. About half the caffeine of a standard drip coffee, and it still drinks like coffee. Settled science and early science, both stamped on the front, so you know which one you're drinking.
Everything, in full
Fruiting Body is instant mushroom coffee made with lion's mane and chaga fruiting-body extracts, not mycelium grown on grain. One 3 g scoop makes a cup, 30 cups a bag, at about half the caffeine of a standard 8 oz drip coffee. Built for people who love mornings. $34, one bag, no subscription.
First Light is the current formulation. 300 bags, then the next one takes over. A unique blend every drop.
What's in it
- Instant arabica coffee
- Lion's mane fruiting-body extract
- Chaga fruiting-body extract
One 3 g scoop · 30 cups · net 3.2 oz (90 g) · $34
Why it's different
- The lab report is your lot's, not the brand's. Scan the QR on the back and read the certificate for the bag in your hand.
- Fruiting body, not mycelium on grain. Most "mushroom" supplements are grown on grain and dried with the grain still in them.
- Half the caffeine, same clarity. About half a standard 8 oz drip coffee, which the Mayo Clinic puts at roughly 96 mg.
- A unique blend every drop. 300 bags a formulation, a new one roughly monthly, and the last one does not come back.
- $34. That's the price. No subscription, no struck-through list price, no discount theatre.
- Every ingredient carries our evidence stamp, our reading of the published human research, printed on the front of the bag.
The stamps, plainly
Lion's mane, stamped EARLY. Real human trials exist and the results so far are inconclusive. The research is still open, and it's in here on purpose.
Chaga, stamped ANCIENT. Centuries of documented use, no controlled human trial. It's here for taste and tradition, and we say so on our own label.
These are our stamps and our reading of the literature, not a certification, and no outside body issues them. The independent lab certificate is the third-party document.
Exact milligrams come from this lot's certificate of analysis, published here before a bag ships. We'd rather show a blank than a guess.
Who should skip it
Anyone pregnant or nursing · anyone on blood thinners · anyone with a history of kidney stones (chaga is high in oxalate) · anyone avoiding caffeine. Talk to your doctor before starting any supplement.

The mushrooms inside First Light.
Every drop is built from mushrooms with a story behind them. This one has the forest mushroom the monks trusted, and the birch mushroom Siberia drank all winter. Both were stamped for human evidence before they got near a bag.
Lion's Mane
Japan calls it yamabushitake, the mushroom of the mountain monks, eaten before long days of study. It grows as a white cascade off old hardwood, no cap and no stem, and it's been in the Chinese materia medica for over four hundred years.
Why it's special
Of every culinary mushroom, this is the one scientists keep coming back to. The compound family unique to lion's mane, the hericenones, was first isolated from its fruiting body in 1991. The erinacines are a different family and they live only in the mycelium, which is why you won't see us claim them.
What it brings to the cup
A savoury, toasted-grain note that sits under the coffee and rounds it out. Lion's mane coffee shouldn't taste like mushroom. This doesn't. You just taste a smoother cup.
How we use it
Fruiting body only, hot-water extracted, so what's in the bag is the mushroom, not the grain it was grown on.

Chaga
It doesn't look like a mushroom. It looks like a burnt scab on the side of a birch, black and cracked outside and rust-orange inside. Across Siberia it was ground and boiled as the daily winter drink for centuries. The Khanty called it the gift of the forest.
Why it's special
Chaga takes years to grow on a living birch and is still wild-harvested. There's no farm for it. In 1955 it became one of the very few traditional fungi to earn an official state pharmacopoeia entry, as the Soviet extract Befungin.
What it brings to the cup
Dark, faintly vanilla-bitter and warming. It's the reason this tastes like real coffee instead of a supplement. It sands the sharp edge off the roast.
How we use it
Wild-harvested sclerotium, dual-extracted, bought by the lot. Every lot tastes a little different, which is exactly why a drop is 300 bags and not 30,000.
Our reading · full sources on the research pages
Chaga is naturally high in oxalates. If you have a history of kidney stones, or you take blood thinners, talk to your doctor first. Not for use while pregnant or nursing.

A real person answers
hello@fruitingbody.io reaches us, not a ticket queue. It's a food product, so opened bags can't come back. We'll always talk, though.
The questions we'd ask.
Will I feel something?
Probably not on day one, and not the way an energy drink hits. This is coffee with mushroom extracts in it. The caffeine you'll feel. The rest is a slow argument. Anyone promising you a noticeable cognitive event from a cup of coffee is selling, not explaining.
What does it taste like?
A medium roast with the sharpness sanded off. Chaga brings a dark, faintly vanilla bitterness; lion's mane a savoury, toasted-grain note underneath. It does not taste like mushrooms. The longer answer is here.
How much caffeine is in it?
About half a standard 8 oz drip coffee, which Mayo Clinic puts at roughly 96 mg. Half the caffeine, same clarity. Why that trade is worth making.
Why only 300 bags?
Each drop is a limited release built from a single lot and a single extraction run, and that makes about 300 bags. Every lot tastes a little different, so instead of blending them into sameness we give each one its own drop, its own number and its own month.
What if my bag arrives damaged?
Send a photo to hello@fruitingbody.io within 14 days of delivery and we replace it, no charge. Unopened bags can be returned within 14 days, less a $5.99 flat-rate return shipping fee. Because it's a food product we can't take back opened bags or refund for taste. If you're unsure, start with one bag.
When is the next drop?
Every month, or sooner if this one sells out. Each drop is designed for the month ahead, so the mushrooms and the taste change with it. The Coffee Club hears what's in it first and gets the link 24 hours before it's public.
Is it lab tested?
Every lot goes to an independent lab and that certificate is published on its drop page, including drops that have closed. Drop 01's is in progress and goes up before a bag ships.
